floating cinema milton keynes: home

In Summer 2018 we were commissioned to produce a Kids’ Guide to the Floating Cinema.

The Floating Cinema is a real cinema on a working barge, that takes up residence in three locations along the Grand Union Canal in Milton Keynes all summer. A film programme of on-board and bankside screenings explores the importance and meaning of home.  

White Wall Yellow Door was asked to produce a 12 page activity guide to the barge as well as a stand alone A4 activity sheet.

The writing, drawing and talking prompts we devised invite kids and their families/ carers to think about many of the themes raised by this unique project - from the design and construction of the barge itself, to the theme of home.

The Floating Cinema is an award-winning structure that was originally conceived and commissioned by UP Projects and designed by Duggan Morris Architects. For more information click here
