The house is less than 5 mins walk to the nearest swimming spot which is by the playing fields, & about 10 mins walk to Shaldon Beach which has all the usual amenities inc good coffee shop, organic ice-cream & so on!
Neighbourhood description
Shaldon is a very pretty, historic village, ideal for family holidays. There are several wonderful eateries including the Clipper Cafe, and the award winning Cafe Ode. There are also several pubs, all serving food, within easy walking distance of the house. Both Shaldon beach and Smuggers Beach (accessed through the iconic Smugglers Tunnel) are sandy and perfect for swimming. A ferry runs all day between Shaldon and Teignmouth, where there are more fabulous cafes and restaurants, including the award winning Crab Shack. A little further afield, explore the delights of the English Riveriera, the Cathedral city of Exeter, or blow away the cobwebs with a stroll on Dartmoor - just a 30 min drive. The historic towns of Totnes and Dartmouth are also a 30 min drive, both with lots of lovely shops, galleries, restaurants and bars. The nearby beaches range from picturesque sandy beaches to wild and rugged coastline and spots to surf.
